The Commandery of Knights Templar is a uniformed body. A member cannot take part in all of the degree work and programs of the commandery without a suitable uniform. However, with the wide variety of uniforms available online, and the byzantine nature of the uniform regulations themselves, precuring a uniform can be a daunting task.
This section of the website is dedicated to identifying the required parts of the uniform and providing links to where these items can be purchased. Numerous links are given offering various price points and options.
One important thing to note is that past and sitting commanders are to wear gold, and the general membership is to wear silver. This applies to all items on the list.

Uniform Coat
Black double-breasted suit with two columns of front buttons. A Chief Petty Officer’s service dress jacket with a slit for the Sword Sling and Templar Buttons may be substituted.

Black Tie
The tie is a black tie tied four-in-hand. No specific tie is required but some ties are sold with a hidden emblem to identify your designated Commandery tie.

As Ann Arbor Commandery was founded by members of Detroit Commandery we use a Detroit regulation sword. The length of the sword should reach your ear lobe when held at carry.
